Events for Young People From time to time events are held at the Windsor Methodist Church to specifically
interest Young People – for example the recent visit by Jeff Rich, ex drummer of Status Quo, who led a super Drum Master
Class.

The Sunday
School
The Windsor Methodist Church has a vibrant Sunday School of 3 classes with age ranges of 3-7, 8-11 and 12 - 16.
The Teachers and helpers of each class are all volunteers who stimulate the discussions and activities every week.
Discussions and sessions are based on Bible syllabuses from books that cover different topics each week. The Activities
include arts and crafts, drama (within class sessions and to the Church such as nativity plays) and music and song as well
as serving the Church generally. For example, the Church is about to launch a senior Sunday School Group to assist in
productions within the Church using the newly enhanced Audio/Visual equipment and the re-launched Web site (Content and Build).
Although the Sunday School numbers vary every week approximately 35 children attend. Many musicians and soloist singers
are members of the Sunday school. This means we have a group of young people that can perform and be involved in Church
services and one off performances at the Church for example “The Wizard of Oz”
New members are always welcome in any of the three classes with or without their parents attending our Church on a regular
basis
JMA - Junior Missionary Association Windsor Methodist Church has a long history of JMA involvement and our young people are encouraged to collect weekly (or
when then can) from members of the congregation and family and family friends.
Last year a grand total
of £945 was raised for the JMA by our young members. Our Church is proud of our young people for this work and
it is such a worthwhile and wonderful way for young people to actually do something for young people who are so much less
fortunate than themselves and they learn so much from this practical act of Christianity.
The JMA was started
nearly 150 years ago by Joseph Blake as a movement to educate children about the world church and to raise money which was
used in mission overseas. Today the money is divided between the Overseas Division, which receives 80% of the total, and the
Home Mission Division, which receives the other 20%. Overseas the money is used to support the work of missionaries and in
the form of direct grants to projects concerned with medical and social work, education, evangelism, and agriculture. The
Home Mission's income helps to support weaker churches in rural districts and inner city areas; it helps to maintain chaplains
in universities, the Armed Forces, prisons, and ministers in new towns. Industrial missions and the provision of factory chaplains
are also part of its responsibility.
